How to Make Achari Gosht

To make Achari Gosht, a flavorful and spicy meat dish, follow this recipe:

Ingredients:

1 kg mutton or lamb, cut into pieces
4 tablespoons mustard oil
2 onions, finely sliced
3 tomatoes, chopped
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1/2 cup yogurt
2 tablespoons mango pickle (achar), finely chopped
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon red chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
Salt, to taste
Fresh cilantro (coriander) leaves, for garnish

Instructions:

1. Heat mustard oil in a large, heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.

2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.

3. Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they are soft and pulpy.

4. Add the mutton pieces to the pot and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5. In a small bowl, mix the yogurt, mango pickle, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt.

6. Add the yogurt mixture to the pot and mix well to coat the mutton pieces.

7. Cover the pot and cook on low heat for about 1-1.5 hours, or until the mutton is tender and cooked through. Stir occasionally and add water if needed to prevent sticking.

8. Once the mutton is cooked, remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.

9. Serve hot with rice or roti. Enjoy your Achari Gosht!
